About Team Wheel

Team Wheel is a specialist HR technology consultancy helping organisations select, implement, optimise and support platforms such as Dayforce, Workday, HiBob and Talentia.

We work with clients who are improving the way their HR, payroll and workforce management systems operate. As we grow, we are looking for a Junior PMO / Project Assistant to help keep our client projects organised, well documented and moving in the right direction.

The role

This is a great opportunity for someone organised, proactive and detail-focused who wants to build a career in project management, consulting operations or HR technology.

You will support our project and consulting teams with the day-to-day coordination of client projects. This will include tracking actions, updating project plans, preparing meeting notes, managing project documentation, supporting reporting and helping make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

You do not need to be an experienced project manager, but you do need to be reliable, structured and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support project managers and consultants with project administration and coordination.

• As your capabilities and skill improve, start managing some of the simpler projects directly.

• Maintain action logs, RAID logs, project plans and status trackers.

• Prepare meeting agendas, take clear notes and circulate follow-up actions.

• Help organise client meetings, internal reviews and project checkpoints.

• Track project actions and follow up with team members to make sure deadlines are met.

• Maintain project documentation in an organised and consistent way.

• Support the preparation of client-facing project updates and status reports.

• Help identify risks, issues or blockers and escalate them clearly.

• Assist with resourcing, timesheet tracking and project governance.

• Support continuous improvement of Team Wheel’s project templates, tools and ways of working.

What we are looking for

Essential:

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

• Good written and spoken English.

• Confident using Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.

• Able to take clear meeting notes and turn discussions into practical actions.

• Comfortable following up with colleagues in a polite but persistent way.

• Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

• Proactive, calm and willing to learn.

• Comfortable working remotely with a distributed team.

Desirable:

• Experience in a project support, PMO, operations, administration or coordinator role.

• Experience using Smartsheets

• Experience working in consultancy, HR, payroll, technology or professional services.

• Familiarity with project tools, trackers, RAID logs, project plans or status reports.

• Interest in HR technology, systems implementation or business transformation.

The person

We are looking for someone who enjoys bringing order to busy projects. You should be practical, dependable and happy working behind the scenes to help consultants and project teams deliver well.

This role would suit someone early in their career who wants exposure to consulting, project delivery and HR technology, with the opportunity to grow into a project coordinator, PMO analyst or project manager role over time.

Salary

Indicative salary: £24,000 to £32,000 depending on experience.

For a strong candidate with existing PMO, consulting or project coordination experience, we may consider the higher end of the range.

Location

Remote. UK-based preferred, with occasional team or client meetings as required.
