Dayforce Business Consultant
Turn complex HR and payroll challenges into smart Dayforce solutions. Join Team Wheel as a hands-on consultant shaping process, configuration and client success.
Team Wheel is looking for an experienced Dayforce Consultant who can combine strong system configuration capability with genuine business consulting. This role is for someone who can work with clients to understand their HR, payroll and workforce management challenges, improve their processes, and configure Dayforce in a way that genuinely supports the way the business needs to operate.
You will work across Dayforce projects, optimisation work and ongoing client support, helping organisations get more value from their HR technology. The role will involve running discovery sessions, reviewing current processes, identifying gaps and risks, recommending better ways of working, and translating those recommendations into practical Dayforce configuration and delivery plans.
Salary and working arrangement
The salary range for this role is expected to be £60,000 to £70,000 per year, depending on experience. For an exceptional candidate with strong Dayforce payroll, workforce management, implementation leadership or optimisation experience, we may consider a slightly higher salary for the right individual.
This role is entirely remote with some travel to client side and company meet-ups.
Key responsibilities
Lead client workshops to understand current HR, payroll, time, attendance and workforce management processes.
Review existing configuration and identify opportunities for improvement.
Translate business requirements into practical Dayforce design and configuration.
Challenge inefficient or overly complex processes and recommend simpler, more scalable alternatives.
Configure, test and support Dayforce modules, depending on experience and project requirements.
Support data, reporting, workflow, policy, pay, scheduling, absence and process design discussions.
Work closely with project managers, client stakeholders and other consultants to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Support testing, issue resolution, UAT preparation and go-live readiness.
Produce clear documentation, configuration notes, recommendations and action plans.
Help clients understand not just what the system can do, but what they should do from a process and operating model perspective.
Support post-go-live optimisation, managed services and continuous improvement work.
What we are looking for
Strong hands-on experience with Dayforce, ideally across implementation, optimisation or managed services.
Good understanding of HR, payroll and/or workforce management processes.
Ability to configure Dayforce while also thinking commercially and operationally.
Confidence running client conversations and challenging process design where needed.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to diagnose problems quickly.
Comfortable working with ambiguity and turning messy requirements into clear actions.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to explain system and process issues in plain English.
Experience in areas such as Core HR, Payroll, Time & Attendance, Scheduling, Absence, Benefits, Workflows, Reporting or Integrations would be valuable.
Consultancy experience is helpful, but not essential if you have strong client-facing skills.
The kind of person who will do well
You will suit this role if you enjoy solving problems, improving how businesses work, and getting into the detail of how systems are configured. We do not want someone who simply takes requirements and builds exactly what is requested without thought. We want someone who can advise, challenge, guide and then deliver.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond pure configuration into a broader consulting role, working with clients to improve both their Dayforce setup and their underlying HR, payroll and workforce processes.
