About Team Wheel
Team Wheel is a specialist HR technology consultancy helping organisations select, implement, optimise and support HR systems that genuinely work for their people and their business.
We work with leading HR platforms including Workday, Dayforce, HiBob, Talentia, Eightfold, Factorial and Teamtailor. Our role is to bring practical consulting, delivery experience, process thinking and technical understanding together so clients get real value from their HR technology.
We are growing our Workday capability and are looking for a strong Workday Consultant who can support clients across Core HCM, reporting and integrations.
The role
We are looking for a UK-based Workday Consultant with strong experience in Core HCM, reporting and integrations. This role would suit someone who understands both the functional and technical sides of Workday and can work confidently with clients to solve problems, improve processes and deliver well-structured solutions.
You will work across Workday projects, optimisation work, support engagements and client advisory work. You will need to be comfortable speaking with HR, payroll, IT and business stakeholders, translating requirements into practical solutions, and helping clients make better use of Workday.
This is not just a configuration role. We are looking for someone who can think like a consultant, challenge constructively, document clearly and help clients improve the way they work.
Key responsibilities
Support clients with Workday Core HCM configuration, optimisation and issue resolution.
Gather, challenge and document business requirements.
Configure and support Workday business processes, organisations, supervisory structures, security considerations and core data structures.
Build, maintain and troubleshoot Workday reports, including custom reports, calculated fields and dashboards.
Support integrations activity, including requirements gathering, mapping, testing, issue resolution and coordination with technical teams or third-party providers.
Help clients understand the impact of configuration, reporting and integration decisions.
Support data validation, testing, UAT and cutover activities.
Produce clear documentation, process notes, configuration summaries and client-facing recommendations.
Work closely with internal Team Wheel consultants and client-side project teams.
Identify opportunities to improve client processes, system adoption and long-term value.
Support post-go-live optimisation and managed service activity where needed.
What we are looking for
Essential:
Strong hands-on Workday experience, particularly in Core HCM.
Good practical knowledge of Workday reporting, including custom reports and calculated fields.
Good understanding of Workday integrations, including how integrations are designed, tested, supported and governed.
Ability to work with HR, payroll, IT and operational stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate issues independently.
Comfortable working across both project delivery and support/optimisation work.
Clear written and verbal communication.
Strong documentation skills.
UK based, with the ability to work with UK clients and attend occasional client meetings where required.
Workday certification in Core HCM, Reporting, Integrations or related areas.
Experience working in a consultancy or systems integrator environment.
Desirable:
Experience with payroll, workforce management, absence, compensation, recruitment or talent modules.
Experience supporting Workday integrations with payroll providers, finance systems, identity platforms or third-party HR tools.
Experience with EIBs, Studio, PECI, Core Connectors, APIs or integration troubleshooting.
Experience in hospitality, retail, leisure, healthcare or other complex workforce environments.
The person
You will be a good fit if you are:
Practical, calm and solutions-focused.
Confident with clients but not overly corporate.
Able to explain complex Workday topics in plain English.
Comfortable working in a growing consultancy where people get involved and take ownership.
Interested in improving how HR technology works in real life, not just completing tickets.
Detail-oriented, but able to see the bigger picture.
Happy working as part of a small, capable and ambitious team.
Why join Team Wheel?
You will work on varied Workday projects with real client impact.
You will have ownership and visibility, rather than being hidden in a large delivery machine.
You will work with experienced HR technology consultants across multiple platforms.
You will help shape a growing Workday practice.
You will be part of a consultancy that values practical advice, honest delivery and long-term client relationships.
